My best friend once told me that ‘You don’t need to make music to have a band’.
And I don’t need to be an artist to look at a certain piece of getting that “wow, spot on!” kind of feeling. Looking at Max’s work all I can say is that it’s all about bringing understatements of small means above ground. Spinning art out of basic stuff, see that flare of charm and make you see it too. He brings everyday words and things together, knows how to perfectly place to little figures on a piece of styrofoam and create an image that could symbolize a various of situations any one of us would meet on a normal day, at work, at the bus stop or in the bar. When you could actually identify yourself with a little yellow smiley I think we’re speaking about that je ne sais quio The exhibition shows a variation of items, the small notes breathing of romance and philosophy, the kind of big, bold dazzling paintings you want to slam up on an empty wall and let it talk by itself and interesting photos that concentrate on details taking it to another level. It’s about love and the love of being alive. I’ve spoken to Max on and off during the past months, normally in Shakespearian-type of language since none of us can’t help being artistic, and Max in his youth and exuberance really symbolizes his work. He’s an out-standing funny person and the exhibition shows the joie de vivre that is so much of his joyful yet concerning and deep personality. I think you’ll enjoy his work just as much as I do. My eyes feel like spoiled excited kids, like fifteen years old getting laid on a Friday night. Its good, Life is good. One for all and all for Max.
